Create an Authorized User

Authorized User Access
Students can give a parent, guardian, employer, or another individual access to their account by adding them as an Authorized User.

Authorized Users can:

  • View billing statements
  • Receive account notifications
  • Make payments on the student’s behalf

Once added, access remains active for the student’s entire time at Longwood.


How to Add an Authorized User

  1. Log in to myLongwood
  2. Go to the Student tab
  3. Select My Student Account
  4. Click the orange button
  5. Open the My Profile dropdown
  6. Choose Authorized Users

Making a Payment as an Authorized User
Once access is set up, Authorized Users can submit payments securely online through the Authorized User Portal.

Set Up a Payment Plan with Touchnet

Touchnet Payment Plan
Our Payment Plan Manager adjusts monthly payments automatically if your student account changes, with email updates to students and authorized users.

Payments run automatically by ACH (electronic check) or credit/debit card (2.95% fee for cards).
Your schedule is set at enrollment—no extra steps needed once active.

How to Enroll:

  • Log in to myLongwood
  • Go to the Student tab
  • Click My Student Account
  • Select Enroll in Payment Plan under your balance

Students may enroll directly or authorize a parent, guardian, or third party. Authorized users receive an email with login instructions to complete enrollment.

Make a Payment

Students
View your bill and make a payment:

Log in to myLongwood Student tab → My Student Account.

Authorized Users
Parents, guardians, or others with access can pay through the Authorized User Portal.

International Students
Pay in your local currency with lower fees via TransferMate:
Log in to myLongwood Student tab → My Student Account → select TransferMate.

Payment Methods

In Person (Cashiering Office)

  • Cash
  • Paper checks
  • Money orders
  • Cashier’s checks
  • Credit/debit cards are not accepted in person

Online

  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express
  • Electronic bank drafts (ACH)

Fees

  • 2.95% service fee for online card payments
  • No fee for ACH bank drafts

To Update Your Payment Method:

  • Log in to myLongwood > Student  > My Student Account
  • Save new payment profile
  • Go to Payment Plan section
  • Select and update your account
  • Remove old method
  • Under Scheduled Payments, select Update All Methods

Flexible, interest-free monthly installments
Make tuition and fee payments in interest-free monthly installments with these notes:

  • $5 non-refundable online enrollment fee
  • Must re-enroll each semester
  • No late fee for delayed enrollment

Who Can’t Use This
Not available for:

  • Study abroad (full payment required prior to semester)
  • MBA programs (must pay in full each session)
  • Summer undergraduates (no plan offered)

What's Not Covered
This plan does not apply to:

  • Personal expenses
  • Books, supplies, or computer purchases
  • Travel costs

How to Set Up Payments
You’ll need a valid bank account (routing & account number), and it must support electronic drafts.

Not accepted:

  • Lines of credit
  • Money market accounts
  • Trust or mutual fund accounts

Returned payments will incur a $50 fee.

Returned Payments

After 3 returned checks or ACH drafts, these options are no longer accepted.

If a payment is returned:

  • Repay with cash, cashier’s check, money order, or online card
  • Returned item fee applies
  • Account hold placed (blocks registration)
  • Unpaid balances may be:
    • Sent to collections (fees apply)
    • Reported to credit bureaus
    • Sent to the Virginia Dept. of Taxation (possible tax refund/lottery claim seizure)

Direct Deposit (eRefunds)

Get Refunds Faster and Safer
Enroll in eRefunds to receive financial aid refunds and overpayments directly to your bank account.

How to Enroll:

  • Log in to myLongwood
  • Go to Student tab My Student Account
  • Click RefundsSet Up New Account
  • Enter bank routing and account number
  • Save and confirm your payment profile

Bank Requirements:

  • U.S. checking or savings account eligible for ACH
  • Do not use numbers from your debit card
  • Some credit union savings accounts may not qualify
  • Lines of credit, mutual funds, and trust accounts not accepted

Always confirm with your bank that your account supports ACH direct deposit.
