Statistics is the key to quantitative reasoning; collecting good data, running appropriate analyses and reaching justifiable conclusions.

This applied minor is ideal for students whose main interest is in business and the social sciences, along with students studying biology and other physical sciences.

PRISM program pushes personal limits for Longwood honors student

Brandon Walters '23 (pictured left), completed fascinating research through our summer PRISM program with Dr. Steven Hoehner. Since then, he's presented his work at conferences across the country, including at WVU and JMU, and he's co-authored a research paper with Nicolas Freeman '25 (pictured right) published in the Involve Journal of Mathematics.

We're grateful to have such a talented and dedicated student in our math community at Longwood – he's definitely not just any ol' pi in the sky!
