With the availability of quality instruction available through free platforms online, what is the role of the teacher in the classroom? How do we engage our learners in a learning environment instead of a live version of what is already available online? What value do students actually get from taking our classes? In this presentation, we will explore the changing role of the educator, the importance of student engagement in the mathematics classroom, and strategies available to educators to ensure that students are actually learning mathematics.
