Please join us for Heather Switzer's talk, "Probing for the Trace Estimation of a Matrix Inverse of a Lattice Discretization," on Thursday November 10, 2022 in 356 Rotunda Hall at 4 p.m. 
Heather Switzer graduated from Longwood in 2018 and holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary. She is currently finishing up her Ph. D. also at William and Mary. She is a Grace Hopper Celebration student scholar, has served as an intern at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where she worked on the HYPRE software package, and has served as president of the Computer Science Graduate Student Association at William and Mary. She is an inductee of Upsilon Pi Epsilon and Pi Mu Epsilon. At Longwood, she was active in ACM and the Math Club and did research on Pisano periods with Dr. Julian Dymacek. She earned Longwood's highest academic honor for Computer Science and Mathematics, the Badger-Magnifico award.
