As part of the 125th Anniversary of CHI, we recognize these Icons and the many others who embodied the ideal of
service to the whole without seeking honor for themselves.

Join us during Homecoming & Alumni Weekend as we celebrate the 125 Icons.

Longwood’s history is rich with Icons who can be recognized by name, but the institution would not be what it is today without countless others whose contributions made impacts on students, the Longwood community, and our Farmville home.  Among them are:

Those who dedicated their time tutoring local children, meeting with the residents at the Weyanoke Retirement Home, volunteering with the Fire Department or Rescue Squad, working at FACES to provide food to local families, and helping members of the Farmville community.

Those Colleagues, Orientation Leaders, or Peer Mentors who helped welcome new students to campus.

Those who helped organize events like May Day, Circus, Oktoberfest, Spring Weekend, or the countless programs that have educated, entertained, and fueled the Longwood spirit in our students.

Those who have become parents who have inspired their children to make a difference in the world.

Those students and faculty and staff members who stood up for others in need.

Those students and faculty and staff members who stood up for what they felt was right.

Those faculty and staff members who went above and beyond to help a student.

Those who became teachers and dedicated their lives to their students.

Those who served in the military.

Those who became first responders.

Those who worked to keep our campus clean and safe.

Those who we lost too soon.

Those who have served as CHI advisors and helpers.

Those who helped to announce or assisted during CHI Walks.

Those who understood and spread the Blue and White Spirit.

Those who have found droppings and shared them with others.

Those who have kept our secrets.

Those who others feel represent the spirit of CHI.  If someone feels that you represent CHI, then you are CHI.
