Wireless connectivity from Shentel is available in residence hall rooms and Longwood managed apartments.

Shentel Registration Instructions (pdf)

Longwood wireless is also available in some locations on campus (Library, Academic Buildings, Brock Commons, etc.). The Longwood wireless network is named LancerNet and is accessed using the LancerNet ID and password.

Wireless Interference

Wireless networking is the use of radio frequency signals to connect portable workstations, such as laptops, to the network. Since the wireless technology runs off of signals, there will be things that will interfere with wireless communications, such as microwave ovens, cordless phones, electronic motors, and other wireless devices.

Authorized Users

The wireless network is supported, maintained, and protected by Longwood University for use by its faculty, staff, students, and any other individuals as authorized by the University. Use of the wireless network is for internet access only and not a substitution for a wired connection to the Longwood domain. Unauthorized access and use is strictly prohibited.
