All entering Longwood University Freshman and transfer students should have a laptop.
Students may bring whatever brand laptop you like. It is important that students bring all documentation and software that comes with their laptop when they come to campus.
Chromebooks are NOT recommended.

Memory: 4GB
Hard Drive: 250GB Hard Disk Drive or 128 GB Solid State Drive (With the Solid State drive, much of the space will be taken up by the Operating System so be sure to purchase external storage)
Operating System: Operating System: Running Windows 10 or 11, MacOS 11 or later, or the latest stable release of a Linux distribution
Internet Connectivity: Wired Ethernet Port - or appropriate adapter to connect to wired port
External storage device(s): Large capacity flash drives or external hard drive
Optical Drive: A DVD-RW drive - internal or external - is recommended but not required. These may be necessary to watch DVD’s on your notebook or to install software from a disk.
