Dear Longwood Community,
We’re excited to kick off the third week of security awareness month! This week, we will focus on how to secure yourself at work. You may not realize it, but you are a target at work, regardless of what you do. Criminals have shifted how they attack organizations by targeting individuals like you. You are an extension of our security team and security is just as much your responsibility as it is ours. We have some great resources to help you:
- You Are a Target: This infographic will help you understand your value to a cyber-attacker, and all the different tactics he or she would use to target you.
- A Social Engineering Newsletter: Social Engineering is one of the most common ways cyber criminals attempt to target and hack you, whether you are at work or at home. Learn how to detect and stop attacks.
- A CEO Fraud Newsletter: CEO fraud, or Business Email Compromise (BEC), is a growing targeted attack that has become one of the most effective ways criminals get what they want, targeting institutions like Longwood.
We encourage you to share these materials with others, including your family, friends, and neighbors. If you have any questions about our activities in October or suggestions about how to improve our cyber security efforts, please contact Information Security. They are responsible for our overall security awareness program and will be happy to hear from you.
Best,
The Information Security Team
