Jumpstart on college coursework

• By combining the TfT senior-level course (EDU 200) with other dual-enrollment offerings, students can enter college with a semester or more of college coursework completed. Students then have options to either enroll in a community college to complete an Associate’s degree before transferring to a four-year institution, or opting for the four-year Bachelor’s degree route immediately after high school. Either way, the prior completion of dual-enrollment credits allows for a more timely completion of a degree, greater flexibility for college electives, and often a reduction of college loan debt. 
• Students with a head-start on their required coursework are well-positioned to complete a Master’s degree in the same timeframe as they would otherwise need to complete the Bachelor’s.

Teachers for Tomorrow Scholarship

• A $1,000 scholarship, payable during the semester of student teaching in the final semester, is awarded in addition to other merit scholarships and financial aid available to eligible undergraduates.

Employment opportunities

• After graduating, many students have jobs waiting for them due to prior agreements with their school divisions. Some have received partial student loan forgiveness through the Virginia Teaching Scholarship Loan Program (VTSLP) and some hiring divisions have offered their own loan forgiveness packages to incentivize the return of this “home grown” talent.
