Design features incorporated into the facility include:

• Water efficient fixtures reduce water consumption by more than 30 percent saving the university 37,000 gallons of water annually
• More than 95 percent of the existing walls, floors and roof, and 50 percent of the interior non-structural elements were retained
• Renovation waste management resulted in the diversion of 89 percent of waste from the landfill
• Carpeting throughout the building meets the standards of the Carpet and Rug Institute's Green Label Plus Program
• Biomass utilized in the campus' central heating plant provides more than 22 percent of the building's energy
• Landscaping consists of native plants to minimize the use of potable water for irrigation
