Fall 2025 Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry
The Fall 2025 Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry will occur on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 9:00-5:30pm.
This event is open to all students and all majors who are engaging in research and creative inquiry. Students doing independent study projects, research projects, and class projects are invited to participate. Posters, oral presentations, performances, visual displays, and other presentations of creative work will be showcased.
3 Minute Presentation Competition
Inspired by the international Three Minute Thesis (3MT) initiative, Longwood’s Three Minute Presentation (3MP) competition offers undergraduate students a dynamic platform to share their research and inquiry projects. This event challenges students to deliver a compelling, well-rehearsed oral presentation in just three minutes.
Participating in the 3MP competition helps students strengthen key communication skills, including the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, concise language. It also provides valuable experience presenting to a general audience and offers constructive feedback from faculty judges and attendees.
Each presenter may use one slide to support their talk. Slides should be designed for accessibility and clarity, ensuring that the broader significance of the research is easily understood.
Winners will be announced following the conclusion of the Fall Student Showcase.
