Thinking about reporting something you have seen or heard?

Ask yourself:

  • Is a friend suffering in secrecy?
  • Saw something that concerns you?
  • Know that a situation is just "not quite right?"

Trust your instincts. Make a report.

How to Report Hazing

Any person who believes they are a victim of hazing is encouraged to report the incident. Any person having knowledge of any activity or conduct that is concerning or may constitute hazing is also encouraged to report the incident or behaviors.

Call 911 if you or someone else is in danger.

Hazing incidents need to be reported when they occur, because there is no such thing as harmless hazing.  Anyone who knows of hazing activity should report it to the Office of Student Conduct and Integrity.

Anyone can file a report via Say Something, an online reporting process: http://www.longwood.edu/studentconduct/say-something/

All reports are investigated. Important details to include in a report are:

  • names of people and/or organizations involved,
  • dates,
  • where it happened,
  • specific description of what happened.

The University's ability to investigate hazing, enforce policy, and protect students depends on accurate and specific reports. You are encouraged to provide as much specific detail as possible so that the reported behavior can be addressed.
