Tuition and required fees are charged per credit hour to all full-time and part-time students, undergraduate and graduate, including student interns, student teachers, and students earning credit hours for independent study.
This fee is set by the Student Government Association (SGA) and is used to support student organizations and various student activities approved by SGA.

Off-campus students, the comprehensive fee covers costs associated with support staffing, information technology services, the online course management system and video teleconferencing system and all support involved with maintaining those.
The capital outlay fee is a state-mandated fee required of out-of-state students to support debt service costs associated with capital projects funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
