Federation of Student Social Workers

The Federation of Student Social Workers is an organization comprised of students, primarily social work majors, that combines social justice and awareness with social activities. The purpose of the Federation of Student Social Workers is to provide a professional organization through which students can coordinate their interest and act cooperatively and effectively on behalf of all social work students, those they serve, and the community at large, in an attempt to gain a total life experience.


Phi Alpha - National Social Work Honor Society

Phi Alpha is a national Social Work Honor Society. The purpose is to advance excellence in social work practice and to encourage, stimulate and maintain scholarship of the individual member in all fields, particularly in social work.


Longwood chapter of NSSLHA

The National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a pre-professional membership association for students interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders. Membership in the national NSSLHA is available to undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students enrolled full- or part-time in a communication sciences program or related major.

The Longwood University Chapter of NSSLHA seeks to promote the awareness of the professions related to communication sciences and disorders through on-campus learning and service activities.


Operation Smile

The Operation Smile Club of Longwood University was founded in 2013.  We have approximately 55 members from a number of majors, including CSDS, Nursing, Education, Business, and HARK.  All students at Longwood University are eligible to join.  For more information, contact the club's faculty advisor, Dr. Ann Cralidis, at cralidisal@longwood.edu or (434) 395-4951.
