If your child is preschool age (3 to 5 years old) and has not yet started kindergarten our team; that includes you, your child’s preschool teacher, and our SLP’s, can explore your child’s language skills level. We’ll use some tests and also play with your child to learn more about how they communicate.
Here’s what we want to know more about:
A learning disability has nothing to do with how smart your child is, in fact, most people that have a learning disability have normal to above-average intelligence.
There are several types of learning disabilities that we will explore and we’ll look for signs of learning disabilities to learn more about how to help and treat your child's specific learning disability. Together, with your child’s teacher, we’ll find ways to help your child in their class. This may include changing lessons to help your child understand them. Our speech-language pathologists can help your child find ways to organize and focus on their work.
Camp JumpStart is a literacy program for children ages 3.5-5 years old, that will help your child learn the alphabet; and the sounds, speech, and writing associated with it.
Camp JumpStart lead by Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate students and supervised by a speech-language pathologist.
