Jamesha Watson and Dr. JoEllen Pedersen published their article, "The Rise of Structural Individualism: Millennial Attitudes Toward Welfare Poverty," in the International Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The faculty/student team used mixed methods to uncover the reasons why students tend to link structural definitions of poverty and social policy with solutions that rely on the individual. The article has received 85 abstract views and 24 downloads since July 27, 2018. Jamesha and Dr. Pedersen were participants in the 2017 Summer Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (SURI) program sponsored by the Office of Student Research. You can access their article here.
