Students returning to campus this month may be looking forward to their favorite D-Hall staples--chicken patty day, the pasta and omelet bars, and grilled cheese.
When they return, they’re in for a whole lot more.
For several semesters, we’ve heard from students that they craved more options, flavors, and combinations—with a special emphasis on healthy food—from D-Hall. So we made it a point this summer to revamp the dining experience on campus.
With new leadership at the helm and more options to choose from, here are six changes that students have been craving.
1. Fresh Sushi
Setting up shop next to Greens to Go on the first floor of D-Hall is Bento Sushi, a high-end sushi provider out of Canada whose global locations include other campuses like U.Va. and Clemson. They’ll offer a significant upgrade from previous years, including sushi and poke bowls made fresh daily.
2. More restaurants….
A new station called Restaurant Rotation will bring flavors from across the world to campus—but keep checking because the station will be changed regularly so you never get bored! We’re talking about restaurants like Fresh Ginger (Southeast Asia), Zoca (Mexican), Republic of Spice (Indian), and Social Toast (Coastal brunch).
3. …and even more restaurants…
Did we mention that Restaurant Rotation will also feature Mi Comida (Latin-inspired), O-Mori (Ramen bar), Mighty Bowl (Global Ancient Grains), Road Trip America (authentic American cuisine), and The Twisted Beet (plant-forward comfort food)?

5. A re-energized pasta station
Mama mia! Tavolino, a re-energized pasta bar, will keep your favorites--including the create-your-own option--but add in exciting new sauces, veggies and protein options to the mix!
6. Food for your health
Health-conscious foods, including allergen- and gluten-free options, will take center stage at a new station, True Balance.
