What’s your favorite thing about Longwood?
For Drew Pelkey ’17, a communication studies major and Senior Class President, it’s all about connections.
“My favorite thing about Longwood is the connections that professors have with their students. At Longwood, students are a name rather than just a seat in the class. I have had many mentors during my time at Longwood – they all encouraged me to grow and helped me succeed.”

What advice do you offer to freshmen?
“Get involved!” Katie Stewart ’17, a therapeutic recreation major, advises freshmen to take advantage of all of the opportunities and experiences Longwood as to offer.

“I found a family. After joining a sorority and changing my major to communication studies, I felt at home at Longwood.”

“Originally, I wanted to attend another university. I planned to transfer there after my freshman year, but Longwood quickly grew on me!”
