Several Longwood University choirs will join together to present a free concert Sunday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Jarman Auditorium.
The featured ensembles include Pitch Perfect and Lady Joan’s (female a cappella groups), the SAI (music fraternity for women) Choir, the University Men’s Ensemble, the University Women’s Ensemble, the Chamber Singers and the Camerata Singers.
In addition, three music majors—clarinetist Taylor Quesenberry, pianist Taylor Liptak and soprano Kathryn Perry—will each present a selection from her upcoming senior recital. Four of the ensembles will combine for a grand finale, then all singers and the audience will join in the Alma Mater.
Another free concert is set for Monday, March 16, at 5 p.m. in Jarman Auditorium. It will feature an all-female honors choir and a mixed-voice honors choir that combine students from eight local high schools, assisted by Longwood singers. Modeled on the Longwood Honors Band held each January, this event is designed to support choral music in area schools.
