Mike Foreman, director of the Office of Environmental Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia, will speak Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in Longwood University’s Blackwell Ballroom.
The lecture, " Citizens + Local Environmental Stewardship: Your Role," free and open to the public, will cover the importance of citizen leadership in environmental restoration. The event, held as part of Earth Month, will be followed by a reception.
Foreman has for more than 25 years been involved in various collaborative efforts to reduce pollution, preserve farmland and plan for the future of Virginia’s environment. He was deputy director of the Division of Soil and Water Conservation (now the Stormwater Division) at the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation for eight years.
