We can’t wait to see you on campus in August 2025 for your first official days as a Lancer! Of course, if you can’t wait until then, we’ve lined up plenty of opportunities for you to visit campus. In the meantime, here’s a checklist of ways to stay on track as you transition to life as a Lancer.
Your LancerNet ID serves as your primary username, granting you access to various campus services resource. It's essential for logging into platforms such as myLongwood, Canvas, and the LancerNet wireless network.
Your Longwood email account (also known as Live Mail) is where you'll receive all university communications, including class updates, billing information, and important announcements. Be sure to check it often!
Activate your LancerNet ID and set up your Live Mail account
Students seeking Virginia in-state tuition rates must submit the In-State Tuition Form to determine eligibility.
Your Lancer Card (also referred to as your Longwood ID card) is required to enter buildings, access your meal plan and much more. You can upload your preferred photo for your Lancer Card by following these steps. Be sure to review the photo requirements and submit your photo prior to your scheduled orientation date. This will allow you to pick up your Longwood ID card at orientation.
Start Here is just that—your starting point! This comprehensive guide to academics and first semester registration at Longwood provides all of the information you will need to enroll in your first semester courses. Start Here will open in March 2025. We will host informational webinars to help guide students through the entire registration process.
Have Questions?
Beginning in March, students will receive an email about registering for New Lancer Orientation. Orientation is scheduled by major and is being held the week of July 14-18, 2025. You will choose one—either the morning or the afternoon session. At Orientation, you'll meet with students and faculty in your area of study, learn more about campus resources and take care of some action items as you prepare for the transition to college!
Complete your housing application survey when you receive the email. This will allow you to rank your residence hall preferences, select your meal plan and provide information about yourself so you can be matched with a roommate. If you know your roommate or suitemate already, there's a spot to tell us that, too. Housing information, including your room assignment and contact information about your new roommate and suitemates, will be available June 30. Take this time to connect with your roommate, coordinate who is bringing what, and start shopping for your new digs!
An Immunization Record (completed and signed by your doctor) is required for all full-time students. The Immunization Requirements and forms can be found on the University Health Center page along with information about how to submit.
Final high school transcripts, as well as any college transcripts (including Dual Enrollment), must be provided by orientation. Transcripts must be official and can be submitted online via Parchment, dropped off at the Admission's Office, or mailed to us at Admissions, Radcliff Hall, 201 High Street Farmville, VA 23909. You may submit your transcripts at orientation, but please make sure that they are sealed, official, final transcripts.
Get ready for an exciting start! Move-in details will be sent to your Longwood email, so keep an eye out. Once you're settled, get ready for New Lancer Days—four days of meeting classmates, exploring campus, and getting set for an amazing start at Longwood!
Submit your 2025-26 FAFSA by March 1 to maximize your financial aid opportunities! Once the Department of Education sends the FAFSA data to Longwood, we typically issue financial aid offers within 7 to 10 days.
Some students are randomly selected for FAFSA verification to confirm financial details. If you're selected, you'll be notified by email and can view the required documents in myLongwood. Be sure to submit all requested items by May 9 to ensure timely processing. A verification tutorial video is available to assist you.
Once your financial aid offer is available, you'll receive an email with the details. Review your award, understand the different types of aid, and accept or decline offers through myLongwood. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at finaid@longwood.edu or 434.395.2077, or book an online appointment.
If you haven’t already, be sure to accept your financial aid offer in your myLongwood account. Fall semester bills are typically sent during the first week of July. Once you receive your billing statement, you can set up a payment plan if you're interested.
