With several new names and faces and new areas of responsibility, Alumni and Career Services continues to evolve to better meet the needs of alumni and current students.
The office was initially created in 2015, when the offices of Alumni Relations and University Career Services merged, allowing the two related areas to work together more closely to provide services and events for alumni, and career assistance for both alumni and current students.
Recently several new staff have joined the office and areas of responsibility have shifted and grown, including the creation of an entire new area known as Professional Networks, which is tasked with helping to bridge the gap between college and career life (see related story in 'All About Networking' article).
The graphic above shows the current organization of Alumni and Career Services, and allows alumni to put faces with names they may have been “hearing” in their online, email or telephone interactions with staff.
“We see Career Services as the heart, Alumni Engagement as the soul and Professional Networks as the area that connects the two,” said Nicole Perkins, director of alumni engagement. “We’re excited about working together to build on the strength of the programs we have in place while also launching some new initiatives.”
