Accessible seating is available in Joan Perry Brock Center at all price levels. For events with a GA Floor, seating subject to the individual show production. Accessible tickets are available for purchase through the Box Office or box office website link. Please indicate the need for accessible tickets at the time you order along with any specific needs.

Admission

All guests entering the arena must have a valid event ticket to gain admission.

Aisles

For the safety of all guests, aisles must be kept clear at all times. Please follow the directions of the event staff assigned to your section and refrain from standing in the aisles.

Alcohol Policy

Joan Perry Brock Center strives to present a family-friendly environment for every guest. Joan Perry Brock Center promotes responsible use of alcohol with the following policies:

Aramark is the only licensed permit holder authorized to possess, sell, deliver, or serve any alcoholic beverages at the Joan Perry Brock Center. All events where Aramark is serving alcohol, all parties are subject to the laws and regulations set forth by the Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Control Board.

No alcoholic beverages may be sold or served to any person under the age of twenty-one (21), the legal age for consumption in the United States. For each purchase transaction, any customer who appears to be thirty (30) years of age or younger must be required to show valid photographic identification, which proves that they are not under the legal age for consumption. The only acceptable forms of identification are:

  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Valid US State or Federal Government Issued ID
  • Valid US Passport and/or passport card
  • US Military ID
  • Valid Foreign Passport
  • Electronic forms of identification are prohibited
  • No more than two (2) alcoholic beverages may be served to any customer per transaction at any point-of-sale.
  • No alcoholic beverages may be sold or served to any person who is visibly intoxicated.
  • Alcohol service for Longwood University basketball games will be discontinued at the start of the 4th quarter or at the discretion of the Aramark Alcohol compliance officer.
  • Aramark also reserves the right to refuse service to a guest or stop service at any event where its license will be threatened.
  • Alcohol of any kind may not be brought into or taken out of the center.
  • Any person exhibiting visible signs of impairment will not be permitted into the center.
  • Any guest who exhibits behavior that distracts from or interferes with another guest’s enjoyment of the event may be removed from the center.

Animals

Animals are not permitted into Joan Perry Brock Center unless they are an ADA defined Service Animal, see Service Animal Policy.

Bag Policy

To provide a safe environment for our staff and patrons we will only be allowing bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” inches into Joan Perry Brock Center. The only bags allowed are small clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” inches or clear tote bags measuring no larger than 12”x6”x12” inches. All bags will be subject to search. We appreciate your efforts in helping to make this a fun and safe environment.

Box Office

The Joan Perry Brock Center Box Office is located at West Entrance to Joan Perry Brock Center.

Camera Policy

The camera policy for each event is determined by the event itself and is subject to change. All types of cameras are permitted for Longwood Athletics events. SLR type cameras, cameras with detachable lenses, professional style cameras and video cameras are typically not permitted for concerts and similar performances. Monopods, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted.

Cash/Credit Cards

Joan Perry Brock Center Team Store and Box Office currently accept Cash, Visa, Discover, American Express, Mastercard, and Lancer Cash.

Concessions is currently cashless and only accepts Visa/Mastercard.

Changing Stations

All public restrooms at Joan Perry Brock Center contain baby changing stations.

Child Ticket Policy

For all sporting events and most concerts, children under two years old do not require a ticket to be admitted, however, they must sit on an adult’s lap and may not occupy a separate seat. Any child who has reached their second birthday will require a ticket to enter the arena and must occupy their ticketed seat. Please note that some shows (especially those intended for children) may have a different age policy. Any events varying from our age policy will be clearly indicated on the event listing and ticketing pages.

Code of Conduct/Expectations/Guest Conduct

  • Joan Perry Brock Center is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable entertainment experience.
  • Guests will be treated in a consistent and professional manner by all venue staff.
  • Guests shall be respectful to players, Joan Perry Brock Center staff and other fans.
  • Guests shall not interfere with the event, athletes or performers in any way.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seat location and show their ticket when requested.
  • Guests who consume alcoholic beverages shall do so in a responsible manner.
  • Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
  • Guests may not smoke or vape anywhere inside Joan Perry Brock Center
  • Guests shall refrain from using foul/offensive language, obscene gestures, and engaging in other behavior detrimental to the experience of other guests.
  • Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the playing surface, stage or a restricted area without a proper credential will be ejected from the building.
  • Guests may not block aisles.
  • Guests shall not stand on the seats or any other building structure.
  • Guests will comply with requests from arena staff regarding arena operational and emergency procedures.

Concessions

Joan Perry Brock Center’s food service provider Aramark is proud to offer a variety of food options during events. The Concession stands are located on the main concourse. Beer and Wine are available at both concession stands.

Disturbances

All guests must always maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior during their visit. Guests who violate building policies, display disorderly conduct and/or create disturbances may be ejected from the event, barred from the building, or arrested. Guests who are ejected, barred, or arrested will not receive a refund or compensation for their loss. Disturbances include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Standing on seats, chairs, armrest, and railings.
  • Placing children on shoulders.
  • Fighting or challenging others to fight.
  • Exposing private body parts.
  • Interfering or delaying an event.
  • Violation of Longwood University or Joan Perry Brock Center code of conduct or event policies.
  • Violation of local and federal laws and statues.
  • Attempting to enter the court, stage, backstage or restricted areas without proper permission/credentials.
  • Throwing, discharging, and launching any substance or object.
  • Intentionally disturbing another guest/employee with loud and unreasonable noise.
  • Using profanity and/or other offensive words to provoke others.
  • Taunting or using offensive language against the players, referees, employees, or performers.

Doors Open

Doors typically open 60 minutes prior to scheduled start time for most events at Joan Perry Brock Center. Door opening time is subject to change per event. Longwood University Athletic event doors open 60 minutes prior to start time.

Dress Code

All guests are required to wear a shirt and shoes for their own safety and the health and safety of other guests. Joan Perry Brock Center reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing displaying offensive text, content or images.

Electronic Cigarettes

Joan Perry Brock Center is a completely smoke fee facility and electronic cigarettes are not permitted anywhere in the arena.

Emergency/Evacuations

Joan Perry Brock Center is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests and staff. Emergency response procedures have been developed to address emergency situations that may arise in the building and in the surrounding areas that might alter arena operations. In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest event staff member for assistance. All event staff are trained in emergency and evacuation procedures, in the event of an emergency or evacuation, please follow the event staff directions.

Entrances

The main entrance to the Joan Perry Brock Center is located on the West side of the arena off Brock Commons. The student entrance is located on the South side of the arena between Joan Perry Brock Center and Willet Hall; this entrance can also be used by any ticket holder. Bond Terrace will be treated as VIP entrance and will require special ticket or pass to enter there.

Entry Inspections

All guests are subject to search prior to entry. Staff will conduct visual and possibly metal detection inspections to detect prohibited items to ensure the safety of all guests.

Joan Perry Brock Center recommends the following tips to help expedite entry into the venue:

  • Open jackets and remove hats before walking through the entrance.
    • Be prepared to remove the following items from pockets – metal objects, keys, phones, electronic devices and cameras.

First Aid

Joan Perry Brock Center has a medical professional on-site to assist with medical needs and emergencies during an event. Guests in need of emergency medical attention should contact the nearest staff member for assistance.

Flyers/Handouts/Product Samples

The distribution of promotional materials, printed materials or product samples is not permitted without written permission from the Joan Perry Brock Center management.

General Admission Events

A general admission ticket to a Joan Perry Brock Center event means there are no reserved seats. Seats are occupied on a first come, first served basis. On each general admission ticket there are numbers printed for “seat” and “row” but these numbers are for ticketing inventory purposes only and do not correspond to a specific location.

General admission floor tickets may or may not have seats on the floor. Specific information regarding general admission floor tickets will be available on an event-by-event basis.

Inclement Weather

Games and performances will go on as scheduled unless extreme weather conditions prohibit the event from taking place. Information concerning inclement weather will be posted on the Joan Perry Brock Center website and social media pages. Longwood University Athletic events will also be posted on the athletics website. The rescheduling of postponed events will be announced as soon as possible.

If an event is postponed or cancelled, refunds may be obtained through the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online from Glitnir will automatically be refunded in the event of cancellation. Requests for refunds will need to be made for rescheduled events.

Lost Children

Lost children/individuals should be taken to the nearest Joan Perry Brock Center staff member. If a guest becomes separated from a child, they should proceed to the Box Office at the main entrance for further assistance.

Lost & Found

Any items found by staff or other guests will be collected after the event and kept at the Box Office for 60 days.

Merchandise

Team and Longwood University merchandise can be purchased at the Team Store located in the East lobby.

Noisemakers

Noisemakers may not interrupt the event and may not be permitted into the venue. Whistles are strictly prohibited from sporting events. Any noisemakers imitating the sound of official game equipment may also be prohibited.

Outside Food and Beverage

Guests are not allowed to bring in outside food and beverage (including alcoholic beverages) for any games or events.

Parking

Regular event parking (free) is located on the south end of campus in designated lots along Wynne Street. Reserved basketball parking includes the Longwood Parking Garage, the Greenwood Library lot and the CSTAC lot.

Prohibited Items

Including, but not limited to:

  • Weapons (guns, knives, pepper spray, mace, chains, spiked bracelets, brass knuckles, bats, sticks, etc.)
  • Outside food or beverages
  • Bottles, Cans, Containers, and Coolers (empty refillable water bottles are permitted)
  • Fireworks
  • Cigarettes and e-cigarettes
  • Non-service animals
  • Illegal drugs
  • Laser pointers
  • Noisemaking devices (i.e., whistles, air horns, drums, horns, etc.)
  • Luggage
  • Silly String
  • Balloons
  • Any size pole or stick (medical aids such as canes/crutches are permitted)
  • Projectiles, including frisbees, footballs, and inflatable balls
  • Audio/video equipment
  • Professional photography equipment
  • Cameras with a detachable lens
  • Selfie Sticks and GoPros
  • Drones
  • Skateboards, Rollerblades, and Hoverboards
  • Un-approved pamphlets, handouts, ads, etc.
  • Joan Perry Brock Center management reserves the right to prohibit any other item which is deemed unsafe or inappropriate. Prohibited items will not be accepted at the arena for safekeeping. Please leave all prohibited items secured inside your vehicle or at home. Joan Perry Brock Center will not check or store any prohibited item.

Projectiles/Throwing Objects

The throwing of any item anywhere within the arena is strictly prohibited and is cause for immediate ejections from the arena and other potential charges.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located throughout the Joan Perry Brock Center concourse. All restrooms meet or exceed ADA specifications and are wheelchair accessible. Baby changing tables are available in all restrooms. A family restroom is located at Section 120.

Re-Entry

Joan Perry Brock Center will only allow re-entry if the patron scans out with ticket taker with legitimate need for exiting. The patrons must scan ticket again for entry. This will be allowed at Joan Perry Brock Center staff’s discretion.

Service Animals

Trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual are welcome at the Joan Perry Brock Center. Service animals must always remain on a leash or in a harness, unless special circumstances exist, and are required to rest in the seating area of the guest with the disability, rather than the aisle. Comfort animals are not permitted.

Signs, Banners, Posters and Flags

Unless otherwise specified by teams or event management, guests are welcome to bring small signs or posters for events. Maximum allowed size for signs or posters is 24" x 24". Banners are not allowed.

The following guidelines apply:

  • Item must be related to the event
  • Item may not be attached to a stick/pole
  • Item may not obstruct any sponsor/building signage
  • Item may not be attached, hung, taped, or draped over any part of the building
  • Item may not be commercial or political in nature
  • Item may not contain or display obscene/offensive language and/or pictures, as determined by Joan Perry Brock Center Management.
  • Item may not be constructed or displayed in a manner that may obstruct the view of other guests, interrupt the experience of other guests, or create a safety hazard.
  • Signs must be constructed of paper, fabric or poster board materials.
  • Signs may not be constructed of or contain plastic, wood, metal, glass or any material that can become a hazard.
  • Signs may not be larger than 24" x 24".

Smoking Policy

Smoking of any kind including the use of e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited anywhere in Joan Perry Brock Center.

Standing and Standing Room Only

Guests are allowed to stand during an event, provided that they are only occupying the area in front of their ticketed seat. Standing in the aisles and/or on chairs is strictly prohibited.

Standing Room Only tickets may be available for some events. Guests with standing room only tickets must stand within their designated location within the arena. The use of any type of seat is prohibited in standing room only locations.

Strollers

Strollers are permitted on the concourse only. Strollers are not allowed in the seating bowl and must be parked outside on the concourse. Due to the limited storage locations for strollers, guests are strongly encouraged not to bring strollers into the venue.

Water Fountains

Drinking fountains are located throughout the concourse.

Wi-Fi is available throughout Joan Perry Brock Center; it may be accessed using LancerNetVisitor.
