Kinesiology is pleased to welcome Dr. Eli Lankford as a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2024-25 academic year. Dr. Lankford brings nearly 20 years of experience in teaching and research in exercise physiology. He spent 15 years at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he established the exercise science program and served as its founding director. He also served two terms as President of The American College of Sports Medicine Northwest Chapter. Most recently, Dr. Lankford was at Cal Poly Humboldt, where he was the graduate coordinator and led the Human Performance research lab.
His research interests include metabolism, human performance, and innovative physical activities. Dr. Lankford is also knowledgeable about fitness industry marketing and FTC compliance. He has published over 50 abstracts and papers, often in collaboration with undergraduate students. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, fishing in Alaska, and music.
Dr. Lankford will teach Introduction to Kinesiology, Exercise is Medicine, and Motor Learning and Control.
