Fall new students will submit the housing and meal application online through the student housing gateway beginning in April. Students will receive an email with instructions to complete the housing application once it is available.
Spring new students must complete a housing and meal plan application through the student housing gateway.
The housing application is available beginning on November 4.

Answer a roommate survey and be paired with another student by the RCL office
OR
Students can mutually select a specific roommate
Residential and Commuter Life will attempt to honor each student's housing preferences, but it is not possible for every student to receive his/her preferred building preference. RCL will notify students regarding their housing assignment through the student's Longwood email account.
Housing options for first-year residents vary floor to floor within our Residence Halls. The table below outlines where new freshmen and upperclassmen students are typically housed. The RCL office has the right to make changes to floor designations based on student enrollment.

Is Longwood managed housing guaranteed for new freshmen students?
Yes. New freshmen are required to live in a main campus residence hall unless the student will commute from home within the 8 surrounding counties.
Is Longwood managed housing guaranteed for Transfer and Readmitted students?
Yes. The Residential & Commuter Life offices anticipates that there will be sufficient space to provide all Transfer and Readmitted students with housing in either a main campus residence hall or Longwood managed apartment community.
Where do Summer School students live?
All non-commuting summer school students will be assigned a room in Cox Hall.
