The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is pleased to unveil the Fall 2018 Community Snapshot. Longwood’s Greek Community sent off 2018 with some great events and an exciting new program!
2018 was the 121st year that Greek life has been on Longwood’s campus. This past fall, we had 569 active Greek members. Also, our organization’s gained a total of 40 new members, that will definitely bring some great things to our community.
While keeping up with classes, our 23 chapters were able to raise $13,691 for their philanthropies! They also completed 3,725 service hours in and around the Farmville community.
The overall Greek GPA was even higher than the spring 2018 semester! It was an outstanding 3.08 which is higher than the all campus average GPA. The chapter with the highest GPA was Delta Sigma Theta.
Our Greek Honor Society, Order of Omega, continued to work hard and put on an impressive Hazing Prevention Week. Order of Omega is currently gearing up to welcome new members into their organization.
The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life was also hard at work! This year’s Lip Sync was the highest attended Greek event of the semester. The office also selected 14 campus leaders to be the first group of the revamped Greek Ambassadors.
Lastly, we moved into our suite in the beautiful new Upchurch University Center. Come visit us in Upchurch 203. We can’t wait to see all of our chapter’s great contributions to the community this spring!
