Highlight Your Best Works
We’re excited to see 3–5 pieces of creative work that you’re most proud of. These should reflect your thinking process, skill, and passion, whether that's sketches, finished pieces, or projects that show your growth and creativity. Please include a brief description for each, explaining what inspired you and why it matters to you.
Why We Want to See This
It helps us appreciate your creative journey and ambitions. It also shows us how you experiment with different ideas and materials. Finally, it gives insight into where you've been artistically and, more importantly, where you're headed.
$1,000 Scholarship Opportunity
The student with the strongest submission, as chosen by a faculty committee, will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship. It will be applied directly to your first-year aid package. The deadline for showcase submissions is February 1 with the notification of the scholarship winner on March 1.
What to Include
We want to see 3 to 5 works you feel best represent your talents and interests. Include a one-to-two sentence caption per piece reflecting on:
• Context: What’s the story behind this work?
• Medium: What techniques or materials did you use?
• Why it’s meaningful to you
The requirements above should be saved as one PDF or PowerPoint Presentation and submitted online.
Who should I contact with questions?
If you have any questions about the portfolio, need assistance saving all files as one PDF, or would like to discuss the GAND program in general, please reach out to our dean of admissions, Jason "Ferg" Ferguson, M.S. '12.
