Funds are provided to the university through the Federal and State governments to award to students who demonstrate financial need as a result of filing the FAFSA. Reminder: Most financial aid programs have a satisfactory academic progress criteria. This criteria must be met to receive the Federal and State programs listed.
Financial Assistance Programs
- Grants - Grants do not have to be repaid
- Scholarships - Scholarships do not have to be repaid. They generally have a merit or performance criteria. Some examples are awards made through the Art, Music, and Theatre Departments, athletics, and endowed Longwood Foundation Scholarships.
- Loans - Loans must be repaid
- Work-Study - Opportunities for students to work on campus while attending college.
