    • Step into the future of creativity and entrepreneurship at Longwood’s newest facility – the SEED Innovation Hub. During Family Weekend, get an up-close look at the cutting-edge tools and collaborative spaces that empower students and community members to transform ideas into reality. This space includes Makerspaces, Digital Media Studio, Computer Labs, and Co-Working areas.

  • Pottery Class w/ Professor Adam Paulek | Bedford Hall
    • Experience the art of ceramics in a hands-on pottery class led by Longwood University Professor Adam Paulek and the Student Pottery Club. Held in the Bedford Hall Art Studio, this session offers the opportunity for you to create your own ceramic piece under expert guidance.

    • The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts is a nationally accredited art museum that provides a collaborative forum for students and faculty. Their current exhibitions include A Gracious Plenty: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Jack Blanton.

  • VA250 Mobile Museum Experience at the Robert Russa Moton Museum | 900 Griffin Blvd
    
    • Step into a day of exploration, learning, and adventure at the Robert Russa Moton Museum during Family Weekend. The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience will be in Farmville for one day only, offering hands-on exhibits, interactive storytelling, and Moton’s powerful galleries. As part of the Heart of Virginia Festival, families can also enjoy chances to win cash prizes, vacation packages, and more. Pair this with the museums  Moton School Story: Children of Courage Permanent Exhibit, and you’ll see how the pursuit of freedom, resilience, and hope connects across generations.

  • Mentalist Tom Kennedy | Jarman Auditorium

    • No thoughts are safe… especially not THAT one. Tom Kennedy is a master mentalist who knows how to ABSOLUTELY CAPTIVATE any audience. His brilliantly funny, completely clean, and astonishing show is designed to fully engage, amaze, and entertain. Tom’s performance is a perfect blend of wit, humor, and mind-bending mentalism that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

      Tom’s show features immense audience participation and hilarious improvisation, all centered around the thoughts of the attendees. Whether it’s reading minds, predicting the future, or performing seemingly impossible feats of mental dexterity, Tom creates an interactive experience that is both thrilling and unforgettable. Each performance is unique, driven by the energy and thoughts of the audience, making every show a one-of-a-kind event.
      
      The show will be family-friendly, so guests of all ages are welcome. Tickets are included in your Family Weekend Registration. Additional tickets can be purchased separately for $5.00 at the door beginning at 7 P.M.  Student tickets are sponsored by Lancer Productions and are free; please present your Longwood student ID at the doors.
