Shari May Cecil ’91, a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher at Central High School, was named King and Queen County Schools division Teacher of the Year.
Cecil, who earned an education degree at Longwood, has spent 30 years in public education. “There is nothing better than ‘seeing the light bulb go off’ in a classroom,” Cecil told the Tidewater Review. “I have found that with any subject, the best way to do that is to relate the information to
real-life situations and to be prepared.”
