SEED Innovation Hub

The SEED Innovation Hub empowers students, entrepreneurs, and community members to turn ideas into reality through access to state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technology, and expert mentorship. We focus on fostering innovation, building workforce skills, and supporting business growth to drive regional economic impact.

SEED offers a variety of programs and services open to K-12, college students, entrepreneurs, innovators, makers, and community members.  Featuring two maker spaces, a digital media studio, co-working, and classroom space,SEED can help you turn your ideas into realities.  SEED is made possible by startup funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, GO Virginia, Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, Longwood University Real Estate Foundation, Hampden-Sydney College, and the National Science Foundation.

SEED also houses the Virginia Heartland Regional Economic Development Alliance, our regional economic development partner focused on business retention and expansion.

Longwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

Longwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC), headquartered at SEED Innovation Hub, is an economic development outreach of Longwood University in partnership with the Small Business Administration and Local Governments.

Grant funding and local contributions allow the Longwood SBDC to provide small business consulting at no charge to the potential or existing small business owner.  Primary services include confidential business consulting with specialties in business planning, market research and analysis, financial analysis, and facilitating access to capital:
