- Focus groups of 10-12 business owners and stakeholders throughout VGA Region - 7 localities and 13 separate on-site focus groups.

- Economic Impact of Longwood University
- Project initiated in 1997 to study the local economic impact of spending by Longwood University as well as it's employees and students
- Study repeated in 2002 and 2008
- 2008 study showed that the university had an economic impact of $135.6 million, of which $89 million, or 66 percent of the total economic impact, occurred in Farmville and surrounding counties.
