Becca Wetmiller
Assistant Professor of Accounting

Dr. Rebecca Wetmiller grew up in Brunswick, New York. She earned her PhD in Accounting at Virginia Tech in May 2019. Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education with a concentration in Business Information Technology, both from Virginia Tech. Rebecca holds both a CPA license and a Virginia teaching license. Rebecca worked in the audit sector at KPMG for two years followed by two years as a cost accountant at IPG, a tape manufacturer. Rebecca’s research interests focus on dynamics within the audit team and new staff auditors’ decision making skills. Rebecca enjoys spending as much time as she can at Smith Mountain Lake water skiing, jet skiing, boating, and floating. Finally, Rebecca loves her kitties named Mitty & Margo!
