Tom Wears

Thomas (Tom) Wears is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.  His research interest lies broadly in the field of differential geometry and he enjoys working with students in his research whenever possible.

Tom holds a PhD and M.S. in Mathematics from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in mathematics from Duquesne University.

When not in his office, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelby, and their three sons.  He can often be found running or biking around Farmville or on High Bridge Trail.  Once or twice a summer, Tom can also be found on a local disc golf course with Dr. David Shoenthal and Dr. Phillip Poplin, with Dr. Shoenthal and Tom trying to perform the daunting task of delivering a defeat to Dr. Poplin.
