Molly Monaghan grew up in La Plata, Maryland and throughout high school volunteered with her local youth leagues Special Olympic program. Ms. Monaghan entered Longwood University in the Fall of 2011 to pursue a teaching career with individuals with exceptional abilities. Ms. Monaghan received both her Bachelors in Liberal Studies with a Special Education concentration in 2015 as well as her Masters of Science in 2016 from Longwood University. Ms. Monaghan moved to Richmond, Virginia after graduation and currently works at L. Douglas Wilder Middle School, a Title 1 school in Henrico County, Virginia as an exceptional education and mathematics teacher. In addition, she currently serves as the 6th grade team leader, head track coach, and the school’s IMPACT team lead teacher. Ms. Monaghan is passionate about teacher retention and developing effective leaders. In her spare time, Ms. Monaghan enjoys kayaking and spending time with friends and family.
