He is a proud husband of a high school English teacher and father to two daughters. A huge Dr. Who fan, Evan also enjoys F1 racing and traveling.
Born and raised in the Greater Lowell area of Massachusetts, Evan completed his BS in Social Studies Education at Boston University as a first generation college student graduating magna cum laude. He taught high school social studies in Dracut, MA before moving to Baltimore, MD and completing a MS in Educational Studies with a focus on neuroeducation and family-school-community collaboration at Johns Hopkins University. He then relocated again to rural North Carolina where he worked as an 8th grade social studies and towards a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at North Carolina State University. During that time he served on the Project Management Team of the New York Toolkit: the group that created and launched the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) to bring the C3 Framework to life.
Evan brings his passion for equity-mindedness and advocacy for first generation college students to Longwood University, and he particularly loves teaching in a program that allows him to directly work with aspiring teachers across subject areas and age levels.
