Patti Carey

Patti Carey was born and raised on a farm in Green Bay, Virginia, just 30 minutes from Farmville. She began her collegiate teaching career at the University of Richmond, teaching there for 21 years, most recently as a full-time Instructor of Business Communication for the Robins School of Business. In addition, she has a rich corporate background, working in human resources leadership for Dominion Energy and Kraft Foods and serving as vice president of human resources for East Coast Oil Corporation. She earned her higher education credentials from Longwood and VCU and is well known in the Richmond market for her work with executive education and corporate training. This summer, she moved with her husband and son to Farmville; her interests include reading, kayaking, scrap booking, and visiting historical locations. She believes in the Oxford comma, and her weakness is Cookout milkshakes.
