You can give to Longwood directly, or through giving strategies that may provide tax benefits.

A bequest is a gift made through your will or trust. It is one of the most popular and flexible ways that you can support our cause.

Longwood can help you reduce taxes on Required Minimum Distributions or grow your legacy with an IRA Charitable Rollover.

A charitable trust allows you to place assets into a trust, supporting Longwood while also providing income for yourself or loved ones.

A DAF allows you to contribute money or assets into the fund and get an immediate tax deduction. Then, over time, you can use it for gifts to organizations like Longwood.

If you own stock or mutual fund shares that have gone up in value, you can donate them directly to Longwood, while potentially avoiding capital gains tax.

You can designate us as a beneficiary of a retirement, investment or bank account or your life insurance policy.

The 1839 Society

The 1839 Society recognizes our generous donors that have made a planned gift to Longwood to be realized beyond their lifetime. Members of this society recognize the role of philanthropy in the health of an institution and want to ensure the University's future sustainability. These gifts leave a personal legacy at Longwood and enable future generations to benefit from members’ thoughtful giving.

We celebrate the members of the 1839 Society today for the impact their future gifts will have at Longwood University.
