I am a change-oriented psychologist who takes a respectful and empowering approach and focuses on helping each student become more intentional about the steps they wish to take. I lead the Well-Being Team, serve as an Academic Coach, and teach in the Counselor Education graduate program. Outside work, I enjoy life with my husband, Bluegrass Billy, and our rescue dog, Lily Bleu, hosting dinners, reselling thrifted items, and caring for our planet.

I graduated from the College of Wooster with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology, later earning M.A. and Ed.S. degrees in Counseling from JMU and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from WVU. I provide outreach, crisis support, and psychological assessments, with a focus on anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and support for LGBTQIA+ and first-generation students. Outside work, I enjoy reading, Boston sports, cooking, gardening, and movies

I am originally from the Farmville area and a proud Longwood graduate, earning my B.S. in 1998 and M.S. in 2001 before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2006. With experience in various clinical settings, I help students achieve their goals through tailored therapeutic interventions. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my husband, two children, and dogs, hiking, comic-cons, cooking, Broadway shows, and thrift shopping for hidden treasures.

I am a proud triple alum of Radford University, earning a BA in Psychology, MA in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctor of Psychology. My interests include trauma, adult survivors of childhood abuse, and rural/LGBTQ+/BIPOC issues. My approach blends psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, and interpersonal techniques. I teach HONS 251: Well-Being, grounded in DBT and positive psychology. Outside work, I hike, do CrossFit, and compete in roller derby as "Sigmund Feud," playing for River City Roller Derby.

I have experience working in counseling centers, community mental health, and jails. My approach integrates person-centered, psychodynamic, CBT, and DBT techniques to address issues like racial trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity challenges. I enjoy podcasts, music, traveling, and time with loved ones.

I have experience supporting adolescents and adults in schools and group practices, addressing anxiety, depression, relationships, and life stressors.  I focus on trauma and somatic therapy, using CBT, EFT, and Person-Centered Therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy time with family, traveling, trying new restaurants, reading, and watching The Office.

A rescue dog born in 2020, Lily Blue is certified in AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program by Fuzzy Logic Dog Training. Lily Bleu proudly serves as the inaugural member of the Charlie Case CAPS Animal Assisted Therapy Program. When not working, Lily Bleu likes to run, chase after a frisbee, and lounge on her favorite spot on the couch.
