Megan Kruzinski is the 2021-2022 recipient of the SNVC Scholarship award to a deserving MBA student. Megan has demonstrated a desire to help others from an early age. In the process she developed and shared leadership skills that in turn helped others in many ways. Her efforts have helped improve the lives of others in physical, mental, and emotional ways. Some of her involvements produced immediate results, and other benefits will be realized long after her participation.
Her leadership interest was initiated when she joined the Girl Scouts where she was able to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, helped with a food drive, cleaned a community park, aided in relief efforts following Hurricane Irene, and assisted Blue Star Mothers of America in sending care packages to US troops. During her high school years she also served as Treasurer for the SGA, involved with Key Club, and was the only student member of the Parent Teacher Student Organization. All of these roles were instrumental in shaping her leadership abilities.
Her community outreach continued throughout her undergraduate years as she was a Student Ambassador, an Academic Peer Advocate, and a Campus Engagement Leader. Each of these roles required strong interpersonal skills and provided Megan the opportunity to continue developing leadership skills for interdependent relationships.
This is critical in both professional team development and personal relationships. Megan did not neglect her academics while actively helping others. She was inducted into two honor societies, Epsilon Pi Tau and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Her leadership abilities were also recognized by her alma mater to serve in the Office of Student Leadership to work on leadership initiative projects to assist students in their personal leader skill development and community engagement. In a reference letter, she is described as a “brilliant, yet humble leader”. Another colleague shared, “I have the highest regard for her sense of duty and her integrity”. Truly, high compliments.
As the SNVC Institute sponsors “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” for personal leadership development, it is clear that Megan Kruzinski personifies the foundational principles of effectiveness in this program.
