Longwood University’s Working Artist Program (WAP) is for artists who have received an undergraduate degree. Artists can enroll in this program for one to two semesters.
We offer the "WAP" option for artists in each of the following areas:

The goal of this program is to provide artists with time, space and guidance to develop a body of work or complete an independent project. Through regular critiques and professional guidance with faculty, artists are given the opportunity to gain the skills and experience to take the next step in their careers. These individuals also assist with the daily maintenance and operation of our new facilities and may assist in related classes. Additional responsibilities include giving an artist talk and/or artist workshop.
Longwood University hosts a newly completed $28.2 million-dollar, state-of-the-arts facility featuring 75,000 sq. feet.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any area of study (does not have to be a BFA).
