Congratulations to Longwood Art Student Stephon Slater who has artwork included in "Black History Now II" at Well Art Gallery in Richmond, VA!
The “Black History Now” group art exhibit continues to focus on themes and motifs of the present state of Black history. How is it currently being created, celebrated, channeled, discovered, dismissed, sustained, constricted, affected and more?
We pay homage to those who have preceded us but we also understand the essential function of highlighting and praising those individuals, causes, ideas and movements which impact history, even in our daily lives. Through various media including paintings, photography, sculptures, graffiti and installations, the exhibit will weave many voices into one story.
We aim to create conversations and ongoing dialogue around this exhibit. We welcome everyone to join us in this dialogue. We will be extending this exhibit, specifically immersing ourselves into how Black history is being engaged currently and how it will be engaged in the future.
Please join us to view + discuss these works at @thewellartgallery : 1309 Hull Street, Richmond, VA. Exhibit will run until the 1st of April.
